What is it with the U.S. government and the seemingly endless well of conspiratorial goods it trades in? In this episode Matthew talks with Kathryn S. Olmsted, Professor and Chair of the Department of History at the University of California, Davis, about a century of American politics and the various conspiracy theories advanced by both the government and pejoratively-named "conspiracy theorists". Meanwhile, Josh turns out to have built a robot.

Who was Shakespeare? Why was Shakespeare? What was Shakespeare? Of all the questions in the world, these three have vexed certain "alternative" historians who claim that we do not know the true history of the Shakespearean canon. Josh and Matthew, full of sound and fury yet signifying nothing, delve into the authorship controversy before engaging in an epic conspiracy catch-up. It's hey nonny no, prithy nuncle!

Charles Pigden, of the University of Otago, is a leading light in the Philosophy of Conspiracy Theories; he even wrote the introduction to Matthew's book, "The Philosophy of Conspiracy Theories". In this episode Matthew interviews Charles about a recent piece in which he takes Quassim Cassam, Adrian Vermuele and Cass Sunstein to task for portraying conspiracy theorists for suffering from a variety of epistemic vices. Why not sit back and relax as Charles and Matthew discuss both vices and virtues of the mind for the better part of just over an hour?

Episode 69, the most euphemistic of all episodes. And so, what better way to celebrate than start a sentence with a conjunction? Not just that, but also have a nice, old sexy chat with Joe Uscinski from the Political Science department at the University of Miami! It's a party, and we're all wearing pants!
Also, it's fairly clear that Josh and Matthew don't really know the definition of sexy...
